Geraldo Ortiz-Jimenez was just 20 years old and visiting Orlando for a concert. A college student, Geraldo worked in a diner in Puerto Rico, where his friends called him Drake.
"He was humble, simple and charismatic," said a friend. "He was all good, hardworking, funny and a dreamer."
We thought it a fitting tribute to this Pulse victim to do something humble and simple for a hardworking dreamer we know. We have a friend who helps others whenever she can and spreads sunshine wherever she goes.
But she’s recovering from surgery right now and could use a little sunshine herself. We put the kids’ growing cooking skills to good use and made dinner for our friend.
Molly made one of her famous cards and Brock baked his “made with love” chocolate chip cookies. They may not be bakery perfect yet, but he’s getting pretty good!
Here’s to you, Geraldo … we are so sorry your friends and family are missing you today.
