Jason Benjamin Josaphat
For Jason Benjamin Josaphat a computer science student who was "always willing to help someone in need” we visited Clean the World in downtown Orlando. We spent a few hours sorting hygiene donations that help prevent the spread of disease in developing countries.
With locations in hospitality hot spots Orlando Las Vegas and Hong Kong Clean the World collects cleans and recycle soap and hygiene products discarded every day by the hospitality industry. Besides keeping barely used bars of hotel soap from ending up in landfills Clean the World is helping reduce the morbidity rate for hygiene-related illnesses … especially for children.
Sorting soap and shampoo bottles may not sound like a raging good time, but this is actually one of our favorite volunteer activities. They play fun dance music (the kids love it when I sing and dance), and volunteers 8 and older are welcome. They're open six days a week and you need only call or email in advance to serve. Best of all - it smells great in there!
